9th May 2019
On a rather overcast morning, twenty four Ewell members and two guests from Surbiton Probus departed from Ewell or our trip to Leonardslee Lakes and gardens in Horsham West Sussex. The beautiful landscaped Grade 1 listed gardens, first planted in 1801, were opened this year for the first time in nine years. The extensive walking trails through the woodland gardens with rare trees and shrubs and the outstanding display of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and the bluebells were breathtaking. We had some rain throughout the day but we were able to briefly take shelter under the magnificent trees before proceeding around the gardens.
